Georgi Petkov

The first patient to be implanted with the HVAD System, Georgi Petkov received his LVAD when he was 48 years old. As a professional opera singer, Georgi was able to return to the stage with the most famous Russian choir in German-speaking countries, the Bolshoi Don Cossacks.

The HeartWare® Ventricular Assist System is intended for use as a bridge to cardiac transplantation in patients who are at risk of death from refractory end-stage left ventricular heart failure.
